Launching in 2008, BooksToRead's flagship project aims to raise a minimum of 1,000 used textbooks for re-distribution to government-aided secondary schools in Nigeria and Sudan.
Overseas, books will be used in the daily education of children working toward their Key Stage 3 and GCSE equivalent exams.
BooksToRead aims to increase awareness of the learning conditions of the schools in developing countries amongst school children in Singapore to arouse a sense of empathy for the less privileged, and in doing so, encourage them to contribute to this cause with the time and resources they have on hand.
