This is a 1st Anniversary party, I think should be quite grand. And as usual, stick to its dress code.

Just a bit strange, 9pm to 1030pm, isn't it a bit short?

NTUC Income has just launched a new exciting Retirement plan which I think would interest you. This is an innovative plan that has not been available in the market before. It helps you to save now to ensure a constant and definite stream of income for your retirement.

This is how the plan works. You place a lump sum of say, $100k with us from now till age 55/ 60/ 62. This amount will grow at a projected rate of more than 4% pa. One year after maturity, they will give you an annual payout plus bonuses for the next 20 years. This will assure you of a stream of income for your golden years.

If you decide not to have the payout over 20 years, it can be paid out in one lump sum as well.

More information is available at the link below:
SAIL Plan http://www.income.com.sg/insurance/SAIL/

Benefits at a glance

Potential returns of up to 6X
SAIL gives you the potential of an impressive 6X return on your initial savings when combined with bonuses that will be added to your eventual pay out.

Attractive annual income stream
At the end of the Accumulation Period, your policy will be automatically converted to give you an attractive steady stream of annual income for the next 20 years.

Save as you like
Decide when and how much you want to save. From $10,000, SAIL lets you choose the term that is appropriate for your specific financial goals. You have the flexibility of choosing to accumulate your savings from 10 years up to a maximum of 30 years, all before the age of 65.

Insurance Coverage
SAIL provides coverage for Death and Total and Permanent Disability* (TPD) during the Accumulation Period as well as the Pay Out period, giving you peace of mind while you enjoy life.
How SAIL works
For a male aged 35, with a savings term of 30 years and a fixed pay out period of 20 years, his initial savings of $50,000 could be worth $197,912 at the end of the 30-year period. This sum would then provide him with a pay out of $321,539 or $16,077 annually for the next 20 years.

The Singapore "most" stylish read for men "Arena" is using Obama as the front page for this issue. No doubt that he is charming although he is black.

So be a leader, you may not be the best, but must be the most charming so that makes others to work for you.

Here is another version of the lucky color based on which animal you are. So a few more days to Chinese New Year, just go Bossini, Hang Ten or Giordano (now I understand why they got so many plain color shirt, maybe is for this purpose), grab your 2009 lucky color.

If you do not wish to spend money, then at least avoid your unlucky color. And I think the above apply to whole 2009 not just CNY. So just donate those you don't want to others, treat it as doing some good deed.

Which date is suitable to stop work, or start work, or NOT to start work, can be something important. But of course depend on you believe it or not. Of course, these are for your reference.

1. When to stop work

There are 3 days before the Chinese New Year that are suitable to STOP work for the year of the Rat. You can choose the 22nd, 23rd or 24th Jan to stop work. Everybody can use these 3 days.

( This day should be the last day you go to the office for the Year of the Rat 2008 )
* Avoid using 25th of Jan as the last day of work.

2. When to start work

You can choose one of the dates below to start your first day of work in the new Cow year 2009.
Friday, 30 Jan 2009, 6.05am - 8.05am (Best time), 8.05am - 10am (1st Choice)
* Those born in the year of the Snake should not use this day

Wednesday, 28 Jan 2009, 8.05am - 11am (2nd Choice)
* Those born in the year of the Rabbit should not use this day

Monday, 02 Feb 2009, 8.05am - 11am (2nd Choice)
* Those born in the year of the Monkey should not use this day

Friday, 06 Feb 2009, 6.05am - 8am or 9.05am - 12pm (1st Choice)
* Those born in the year of the Rat should not use this day

On the selected first working day of the year, just go to the office like any normal working day - call your customers, wish them happy new year, do whatever you normally do. That's all (and you don't have to stay there the whole day, an hour or so will be good enough)

3. When NOT to start work

These are the 4 WORST day to start work for the year of the Cow, try not to start work on these dates.

Monday, 26 Jan 2009,
Tuesday, 03 Feb 2009,
Saturday, 07 Feb 2009,
Sunday, 08 Feb 2009

May all of you find health, laughter and prosperity throughout the year!

This is the contribution of a reader on his bad experience when travelled to JB recently. So becarefult.

So, on Saturday night (Jan 03, 2009) I went to JB for the weekend and encountered a couple, one man and one woman, from China at City Square. I think was around 7-8pm.

Anyway, long story short, couple says need money (and will pay back, husband offered his business card and asked for your mobile number) because they are supposed to meet a friend but friend never turned up and now need money for meals / lodging. The "husband" will approach you first then the "wife". Basically the story will be one where they are "trapped" and need urgent help in terms of money.

If you meet them, DO NOT give them any money because its FAKE. I didn't expect to see this type of scam at City Square. This is my fourth time encountering something similar, twice at Hongkong airport, once at Bangkok airport.

Also, don't try to act smart and offer to bring them to police station. Usually they work as a group, so before you reach our nearest police station, you maybe robbed outside.

Just walk away. Don't bother listening to them. Don't even give your mobile phone number or lend them your mobile (cos they need to make a phone call). If you can, walk to an area where there's a lot of people.

First time, I end up giving away 500 HKD. Pay money to learn a lesson I guess. I thought I was helping someone out. I didn't realize until my collegue told me it's a scam.

My third time was in Bangkok (2006) I think. I have some spare cash on me and the poor lady looks almost 60-70 years old. End up, I gave her around 1000 Baht. I knew I wasn't going to get it back but pitiful lah, old lady still have to resort to this.

Actually, not the name card bah. It's the way they psycho you to give them money. People usually get hook when they say, "I will give you 150% more for your kindness. My father (husband, daughter, fill in the blanks) is Managing Director of so-and-so company". Greed bah.

Anyway these days I either fake speak Malay (or some funny language, basically don't understand English / Chinese). And then run fast fast.

Look at this new product, Baked Salmon on the go. It comes in can, and you just grab it like buying a can drink from the supermarket. When you are hungry, you can have a freshly baked salmon anytime anywhere (maybe not in your office) you want. Just open the can, and start the fire, it was designed such that the fish is nicely baked.

Very creative right? If every can food can heat themself like this way will be good. The BBQ stand is even provided in this can.
